MCCC Technology Overview
The Miami County Communication Center provides not only call handling and dispatching, but also radio service to 49 agencies, and data services for 28 agencies within the county.
These data services are provided to our public safety organizations through our CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and Records systems. Our dispatch center, one of the most technologically advanced in the state,
provides our dispatchers with map based location of all incoming calls (both wireline and wireless), access to state and federal databases, realtime messaging to the officers on the street, and a wealth of other useful
information.
Hardware and Connectivity
In order to maintain the highest level of support to both our public safety agencies and the citizens of Miami County the MCCC makes use of many different hardware and software platforms. Connectivity to the county's first responder agencies and public comes in many forms including 4 wire leased lines, high speed VPNs, Wireless over Radio, and currently in testing is Broadband over cellular.
